i'm not tv, but another trip to victoria's secret with s and they just have all sorts of cool stuff, and i'm jealous. i don't really need to experience the joys of "wireless" bras (keep looking for the battery) but as a guy, i really don't want to just see the season's new IZOD colors or a variation in dockers' chinos. even some cool lounge wear, anything! maybe i don't know where to look, there are some places with a few pieces of interesting stuff but not a whole line, somewhere i just know i can go. and not for the anorexic 20-something hipster guys, something jack black would wear! maybe that will be my next quest, something to write an article about. reasonably cool stuff for guys old enough to know better than to shop the AF and Gap-like chains.
of course, before i made the shift to "creative" work, the industries i was in viewed "interesting" as "dangerously free thinking" and shunned it. wearing birkenstocks was a scandal, even with socks. :-)
so somebody has got to have a line of clothes for me, something i can do for myself, not a premade designer line of mix-n-match. i'm a guy, i'm not going to be shopping all weekend to find it. women have vs, i'm envious!

saw the giant bugs today, dragonflies and ladybugs and assassin bugs. the latter they want to use for biocontrol on farms, how nice - they skewer their prey with a giant fang through which digestive juices flow, then they get caterpillar milkshake or whatever in a bit, and the fang is a straw. some people keep them as pets, apparently.
didn't get any compact fluorescent bulbs either. what is earth day without a few CFs?
found my old friend here, who is down under still it seems, where they want to outlaw evil edison bulbs. better the 60hz (50hz there?) flicker that drives some insane than the warm glow. soon we'll all be reading the patent to make our own i guess.
"flow" is, in one form or another, the answer to the cosmic question. maybe acupuncture on a global scale is not the answer (?) but becoming more tightass about everything is not likely to fit into that picture either.
that's the problem with God. jealousy. there are answers beyond our reach. some say He has them. this makes a lot of people insanely jealous, because someone has whispered in their ears that all things are possible, and they mistook the scope.
at the risk of looking like a silly version of ouroboros, those of us who come from the dust maybe should be celebrating and marvelling at the dust and what it becomes, not looking for the control panel. we cannot control our own origins, right?
i can't help wondering whether a global effort based on current understanding of climate science isn't something like everyone running to one side of a ship to fight a fire. yes, it might have been a good idea at first...
the earth was very beautiful today, though. it can't help it. i'm glad it has its own day.
